Hello all just wanted to know if anyone knew why in reshack when i replace the icon of a .exe file with my own icon the .exe file will change its icon but will fail to start.
I open and .exe file inside of reshack find the icon and choose replace resource it replaces it with the icon of my choice and then i hit save i try to start the .exe file and i get and error "this application failed to start properly" any ideas or am i doing it wrong

does this happen with all the .EXE files? or are you talking about one perticular application's exe?
hey igo thanx for the reply it happens with every .exe file i tried for example i downloaded acrobat reader setup.exe file and tried to change the icon file. I save the file and try to open it thats when i get the error
see actually.. some exe's have integrity check. As in, they check for file size or content to make sure that exe isn't tampered with.. that is quite common with installers, also if you have tried changing iTunes icon using reshack you should get similar message.
Maybe you can try using some simple file, for instance something like Notepad.exe or Calculater (calc.exe) in windows. If they also produce same result, then maybe it's possible that ResHack you are using is wrong version or something.
