Aquairc 2.0 With Osx Toolbar!

Ok guys I should have released 1.1 and this as one release, but I didn't think I'd have time. Turns out I came into some extra free time so I was able to do 2.1 faster.

Anyway this is now a very useful ircclient to replace your existing one and not just eye candy as it was before. I added many things and optimized scripts and dialogs. There is a useful and intuitive OSX icon toolbar now. You can now easily tile and cascade chat windows from the toolbar. I also improved the first time start up dialog boxes that ask for your nick to setup program. And I removed the scrolling title at bottom which was a waste of cpu cycles. I'm probably done with this client after this release. Unless yall can think of something else it needs.

Great looking app update.

suggestions:

1) Are you able to make the toolbar's background have the stripes image? it would be a lot nicer.

2) instead of having aqua tube-button for the tabs above (tabs?), you should have the uploaded image:

first off for now make sure when you right mouse click on toolbar and toolbar background both included files toolbar.ping and toolbarback.png are used

that way the icons will match background. I think I had one not set by default. Anwyay

I'm working on improving toolbar as we speak I found some issues with it.

Basically to not have globes when you mouse over right mouse click on toolbar background and click none you will then get your default skin color as background. If your using aqua style theme you should be alright. As the grey will match if not you will need to click select and select the toolbar.png file for now.

I have to redo the toolbar image and make the icons trully transparent

I made a striped background. but ideally the toolbar icons need to be trully transparent so it's theme independant.

anyone have some suggestions feel free to let me know. or pm me. problem is all the stock osx pngs are antilaliased/feathered/dropshadowed so there is a fusia ring around the icons when you make the background windows pink transparent.

ok toolbar is now completely redone with 24x24 toolbar icons!! that are truly transparent. Will now look great no matter what theme your using even for some of my luna using **** friends of mine .

It will be up in a few minutes so I'd recommend downloading again if you've already got aquairc2.0 but first wait till I make another post saying it's up!

OK guys it's out 2.1 and I added the striped background for toolbar per gokus request. The toolbar is way improved. 24x24 icon goodness. enjoy!

a brushed version would be very easy for me provided your running a brushed windows theme. Then you or I can just make a brushed background for the toolbar

well in store I was thinking about adding built in zip support. and I have already added some entertainment features like right mouse click on a users name for a y0 momma joke .

First, let me congratulate you on this release version its stellar. There are just a couple of questions I have,

1. Is there any way I can change the toolbar background myself? I think if I just change the bg.png and channel.png that everything should work out, just wanted to run it by you.

2. Is there any way to make the titlebar stop flashing? I'm using an xdcc script (dccassist) and for every sub menu it flashes non-stop.

couple of screenshots notice the replaced icons in the windows when tiling. someone asked for a brushed version so I made it.

here is a non tiled screenshot I replaced the folder and globe icons, finger,url,channel window,notify etc etc

no more ugly win95 styles!

Ok i've been busy and another guy is now working on aquairc with me.

pretty soon we will release 3.0

it has some very cool stuff.

added script so switch bar uses real osx icons instead of bitmaps and removed pill boxes

built in spell checker/dictionary

built in mp3 player

on the fly theme switching (3 defaults so far) by right mouse clicking a window then clicking themes

animated taskbar icon that opens it's mouth when there is activity in aquairc

reduced and streamlined program size by 50% (yah for modem users)

ability to drag text files to chat windows to read them off to other user

misc bug fixes

custom advanced away msg dialog system

fixed bug where if you change theme in windows toolbar resets in aquairc to default

added fonts to the zip so the needed font's are written to fonts folder

added a custom color configuration dialog so users can have whatever colors they want for nicklist but still have globes

hey i just have a question

for ur first release when u started the app it just asked for ur aquaxp id and then just logged u in

and it worked great no problems at all

but when i tried ur second release it asked for a dal ? something id and password so i just put the same one as my aquaxp account and i tried logging on without any success

at the same time i tried ur first version and it worked fine

so if anyone know how to fix this problem let me know

p.s. wrong forum but does anyone have the outlook express mod in english i know there's a couple floating around and i tried downloading one by soulless which was supposed to be english turned out to be in spanish
