Aqua-Soft ForumsI know this community must have some experienced pro Apple users. So where do u guys get ur RAM? Who has the best balance between price and reputation? I just got an iMac G5 2months ago, and it comes with 512mb, i wanna get a stick of 1GB. Any help will be appreciated.

I own a 2.0 Dual G5 and found a great ram brand from Poland (currently using one of my 2 gigs from this vendor). This isnt a pun, but the ram is called GoodRam and it has worked for me flawlessly at a very good price.

Hey Seph i checked out the Polish RAM. They dont have a distributor for the United States, meaning even if they ship worldwide, i'd be paying a lot.
And Shmengie, i have bought from Crucial before, for my PC. I thought they were overpriced. I just checked and their price for 1gb is $160, which is definitely overpriced. They have an awesome website though.
Hey awesome site, PDidee. Never been to that one before. But does anyone have anything against the 'Generic' brand. Is it safe to buy that brand?
I purchased generic ram years ago for an old iMac I had and it was fine. I even called the company and had them give me a guarantee in writing of full compatibility or money back. Same chip is now running in my old G4 Cube still no problems and that's running OSX Server.

I don't know if you have a CompUSA in your area but they are having a sale tomorrow (Fri. 9/2/05) called the "midnight madness sale" its from 6pm - 12am (I don't know if thats just the one in my area or not). Anyway in that sale they are selling 512 PNY ram for $30.
That brings me to my concern... I am thinking about upgrading my ram to a gig and I don't know if I should just go through Apple or if I should give PNY a chance.
