Trust me - i know about those steps but...
1. As i said, SS steps on them rather hard.
2. Guikitty has problems working with tiger themes and with tiger os (it crashes LOTS of times for me)
3. Go out and catch a cricket
Indeed, SS is the industry standard if you will, plus guikitty is obsolete, and will hang on you like a kitty on meth. Your best bet are those installers, which are a lot less work than all the steps the BigB just pointed out.

Theme Maker? what program is that, do you mean Themepark?
Sounds to me you installed Shapeshifter, and it told you that it needed to be reverted to Aqua, click yes.
With the .guikit files, if you are using ShapeShifter you only double click it.
