Apple to release iPod Mobile Phone?

Apple, Motorola and Cingular Wireless have now finally agreed to release the iPod mobile phone. Once it's in the market, it is going to compete with Sony Ericsson's new walkman phones.

You will be able to directly download music from iTunes Music Store to your iPod phone!

The cooperation between the three companies will be officially announced by our friend Steve Jobs next week.

the nokia n90 blows this phone the sad thing is that because is a itunes based phone people are oging to flock to get it and deal with 100 songs in their pocket when the nokia n90 is an ipod mini and a phone and camera combined-motorola need to step their game up even that sony walkman phone is 1000x better then the itunes based phone

When this thing first comes out you won't actually be able to download full tracks of music. You'll only be able to browse the store and sync it with your computer and iPod as far as i'm aware. That's because the strain something like this would have on the network is immense, so in essence, this product will still be in development long after it's been made "official".

@fnj560: You probably haven't read the reviews of n90 phone mate, else you would have known that it blows on audio quality... it's nowhere near to iPod mini's sound quality... just because you put gigs of memory in some device and bundled mp3 player in it doesn't mean it's great. Maybe some people like everything-in-one devices. I prefer a device for specific task, why? cause, it does a better job at what it's suppose to do. Jack of all trades, is master of None.

Oh and by the way, despite the Carl-Zeis Lense, n90 isn't that great camera either (compared to Sony Ericsson k750i and w800i). so cheer up mate, get above Nokia !!

This seems interesting.

I have a Verizon phone and some time left on my contract, so me getting it is rather out of the question.

It does sound like a good idea, but wont sell nearly as much as the orginal iPod.

I will look forward to September 7th though, if it looks cool I might terminate my contract and get it.

well you all must know by now that this is indeed true, here in the US there showing cingular commercials that now proves that apple and cingular are working together. its pretty cool actually but only downside is that i havent seen any flipflop phones that supports itunes, id like the motorola RAZR to support itunes then im definitly getting it. im moving to cingular real soon so i dont know if i should get the phones that support itunes or get the RAZR instead. blah w/e im getting a nano anyways hehe.
