an anyone tell me is there any screenie cguide to instal mac os on a mac itself
how to install mac osx
Insert you OS X Install cd, reboot, hold down on the "C" key, that should bring up your install screen and follow the prompts from there.
with the cd which comes with mac mini os 9 and os x do i have to start widh mac os 9 installtion first . i want to see the real screenies if at all somebody can give it to me
You should just be able to install OS X... not sure about the whole OS9 deal. Are you looking at an actual OS 9 CD or are you seeing something about Classic support? Here's a guide that comes with Tiger: Tiger_Install_Setup_Guide.pdf
It's runs you through the process step by step.
No need for screenies.
Just follow the instructions.
And you don`t get OS9 CDs anymore (nor did you ever got one with OSX).
You install OSX and do not even come near OS9
Actually If Im not mistaken macs produced after july 7 / 2003 cant boot OS9, or so I've read....

That's right, OS9 cannot be installed installed on any recent mac, only via Classic. I'm not sure what CD gaurav got with that mini, but it certainly wouldn't be OS9.
plz al users keep the thread alive i'm loving it u people know so much about mac .
is the classic differnet from os 9 environment?
other thing is how to mac a mac running cd as i have downlaoded mac programs in .dmg format just preparation for the forthcoming mac mini i'm buying on a windows computer ,now how shud i make cd with hfs. i have used nero but it wantsa mac hfs drive
1.) Classic is basically an emulation environment within OS X for running OS9 and its apps (much like Virtual PC on Windows). The purpose of this was to ensure 'compatibility' for switchers when OSX was going through its transission phase a couple of years back. For what its worth, Apple did a damn fine job with Classic as it really did help many users through the transission - albeit being a little buggy at times.
2.)With regards to HFS, don't worry to much. If the files you have downloaded are still as DMG format the simply write your CD as ISO9660, OS X will read it fine.
i want to know more it's increasing my curiosit i'have heard that it takes 13 the time of windows xp installation and with just six screens .it means it takes around 15 mins
That OS9 CD is for classic support... it's not OS9 itself. You should use OSX CD for installation.
as for HFS or CD goes, OSX can read any ISO cds.. so you can simply write usual data CD in your nero. In fact if you have good large USB thumbDrive, you can simply transfer DMG files from your Windows System to Mac mini.
i ahev got thre kinda files for installation
.dmg
.bin.
tar
it was used by inuz systems
i'm afraid how to instaall

exactly, well said shmengie, you're making it overly difficult for yourself, install and enjoy you don't need to fidle with classic unless you need it badly, which I assume you don't.
Whoa whoa... hold thy horses peopoolee... the part till his ebing ||0oB is fine.... but his being in India has nuthing to with being Dumb...
... allright...
Gaurav, if you can read english.. I believe you can read Help files for sure, and you can search and read things over google also.... Damn it man.. I too, live in india and never worked on Mac before I got an iBook, Yet I got things working without asking anyone. I'm not saying that I'm too bright, but Mac OSX itself is so simple and there is enough documentation available on Net as well as in the OS itself, which should serve the purpose.
Everyone here is to help, but please do not waste time of other's by asking such dumb questions. Before asking, please make sure that you search help documentation and net.
