I just got Tiger from a friend (she gave me her G4) and I setup my partitions, I put 8GB for OSX itself and another partition for everythng else. Can you install applications on the second partition or must they go on the first? I don't feel like reinstalling Tiger and getting rid of everything I have so far, but I was wondernig as I only have 3GB of space left
OSX question
Yes you can! when you are installing something, it will ask you which partition or HD you want to install it!

You can install applications anywhere.
The applications folder is only there because it is a convenient place to find stuff.
And you can even move stuff around really easily; unlike Windows, there's no "central hive" (the registry) that requires something be in a certain location once you've run it from there.
This isn't for neat freaks like me, but you could conceivably run them from a folder on your desktop.
-NC
P.S: Pretty good for a non-Mac owner/user, eh?
