[release] Clone troopers

stole?i didnt stole anything,i have those star wars icons and urs clone ones as well i liked more those than urs,so i decided to make my own version of those.

is that a rip?i dont think so cuz i made everything with photoshop from scratch.not like taking one icon and changing the colors and saying "hey this is mine"

and wut u say about ur going to release ur clone troopers?i didnt even know that until few min ago kidrocky told me

yes, but he took the exact shapes of everaldo's clones...

the picture i provided of a real clone doesnt have those shapes, everaldo clearly made his own style of them, the eyepieces are exaggerated.

but dont believe me, apparently i know nothing. oh, and this wouldnt be my area of interest.

and he claims he made everything himself in photoshop, didnt i with minium icons.. and i got **** for that. and i didnt even release them.. here he is releasing them and all. you can tell that they look exactly like everaldo's, just with different shading. the shapes are EXACTLY the same.

Yes, they are almost identical (yours too if you put the white version of both. I did look at them side by side).

The situation (once again) is different in that:

Everaldo didnt make an original icon, just a replica of a character (straight lines are easier to make than nifty curved ones ) so this (And yours) would fall into the replica of a replica category :slant:

EDIT: Oh, and check the rudeness on the door next time. I will make my damn decision, dont you worry honey.

Yes, you are...

A hard drive isn't a character. It's a machine part, with nearly limitless possibilities of interpretation.

A Clone Trooper, on the other hand, is a character. If you go by Lucas' version, there's not much you can change to make it "your own."

One thing is true, the shape is the same, apart from that its clear that the details/colors aren't, so it really depends on what you classify as a rip.

Seph, your reference to the iPod shuffle earlier doesn't make sense to me.

You say there is one way to draw a clone, then there is one way to draw an iPod shuffle, it doesn't differenciate. Now, tell me what is and isn't allowed. I want to know. What is and isn't permitted?! At what point do things become a rip, and what qualifies them as such? Shapes, colors, original idea? What is it?

Let me expand on it though, im slowly getting sick of threat like responses....

From a legal perspective it depends on many factors (for example if the artist is backed up by a creative rights agreement) some of them rely on morality and plain courtesy (things taught while a person is being formed as a societal being and culturally bound) and tend to be reviewed on a case by case basis.

We stopped feeding our legal staff so they died. I would tell them to give you a "definitive definition", i just cant (For some of the factors of the paragraph above).

However, i wont leave you hanging though. In this case, Sascha was not exactly jumping up and down in excitement when he saw your icons (i love how this thread turned into another one of your threads) if i remember correctly; Do contact Everaldo though, let him see the icons... Its your "right". Let him voice his opinion because sadly, our legal staff passed away.
