AveDesk 1.2 - Explorer.exe uses far too much RAM

Well, I was using AveDesk quite a while ago.

Yesterday I reinstalled it and then I remembered some sort of Bug I had back then.

The Bug / Whatever is, that my explorer.exe keeps increasing the amout of Memory it needs.

That only happens when AveDesk is running, so I think it has something todo with it.

When I had it installed way back, I somehow fixed this, but I forgot how I did it...

My PC Specs are:

AMD Athlon XP 2200+

512 MB DDR

Btw. changing the NoMemCleaner Setting in the Override.ini doesn't change anything.

I always have to log out to reset the explorer.exe to a normal memory usage.

Oh an I only have 3 Shortcut Desklets running.

2 Folders with Amount of MB / GB and ne Numbers of Files and a Shortcut to "My Computer"

I really hope I get some help here, since AveDesk really is one hell of a nice programm and I want to keep it installed.

PS: Sorry for my bad english. Not my normal language.

Edit: just wanted to make one thing clear. I am not talking about 5 - 10 MB RAM. A few minutes ago it used about 100 MB Ram...

hmm. i'm not sure about the mem settings, but have you tried taking out the sublabels for your shortcut desklets? if its an overtly huge amount for AD to calculate, it might eat up processing time.

I'm guessing that you have another problem here... not AveDesk related.

Have you checked your video card drivers? I know that poor video drivers can have strange effects on memory and CPU usage, since WIndows will revert back to non-video-card based resources.

Just as a reference point I'm running 3 drive and 2 folder shortcuts (1 to a mapped network folder) all with sub labels...the drives showing amount of free space out of the total space and the folders showing number of files and folders and total size. I also have Avetunes running and Systats weather module and my mem usage for Avedesk as shown by task manager is 2.056 Meg - and explorer.exe is using 23.5 Meg (and the machine hasn't been rebooted in over a week)

Yes~~

I'm in the same situation.

I have tried using Aston instead of explorer.exe. But the desklets cannot be shown except i set them frontest.

Shame on me :(

It seems like it was my fault. It must have had something to do with the "Hide Desktop Icons" Option.

You know, the one when you rightclick on the desktop -> arrange Symbols (or whatever the english Version of Windows says^^)

Well, anyway now it works just great and my explorer.exe is at 20 MB or so.

But it's always more convenient to post than try to figure out on your own, no? ;)

Are you using Sysstats?

I had this problems before

Finally, I deleted the sysstats desklet and the explore backed to normal.
