Hello!
This sweet dll file makes you see the folder size in windows explorer
Place it in "C:windowssystem32" <-- if thats your windows catalog.
Then hit win+r (run) and write:
regsvr32 C:WINDOWSsystem32DirSize.dll
to uninstall it:
regsvr32 C:WINDOWSsystem32DirSize.dll /u = uninstall

cool. one problem, though: if you sort by folder size, it doesn't know the difference between kb and mb. still, pretty cool, thx.
does this slow down your system noticeably? I would wonder at the performance penalty for calculating larger directories containing many files and folders.
Orange, thanks for this, just started using the details view alot now in explorer, looks good 
@firecracker6 : obviously its not instant (well on small filesizes it is), however that is on first run. It then kinda "stores" it, so when you access the folder again the folder size's show up straight away, unless you modify the folder's size.
If any of that makes sense. In otherwords, no it doesn't slow down your system.

It can be slow/wait time to see the size, but I don't see that it's slowing down the system much.
I don't understand why not windows/the OS has this from the beginning, at least now, since the computers are so darn fast.

Hello i installed that last night on my new installation , still i couldnt get the sizes. Dll registration succeded., i enabled the folder size , But nothing is showing. 
Anybody know the answer?
did you make sure to scroll the window all the way to the right? explorer adds new columns at the end by default. you then have to drag them around.
