However it reminds me of my practical exams 
What do u use to create them, if i may know ? 
I'm using several programs. Making complex glass & liquid shapes in the gimp or a vector app is tedious so I made a quick 3d model in blender and raytraced it. Then I took it into the gimp and added faux transparency (since alpha transparency != glass refraction)
But for other icons I'm doing in vectors, I'm using Inkscape. Drop shadows and blurs go in with the gimp.

Anything that has to do with school would work well I think. Regardless, so far, these look stunning. It's nice to see some original works coming out.

so far I have added biohazard and radioactivity warnings, a geiger counter, test tubes, and some atomic stuff.
I'm going to do a microscope tonight.
And no, I don't run linux. I'm happily running OS X on a new mac mini.
