OSX startup screen?

I installed Flyakite and am quite happy with it. One of the only things I wish it had was the spinning status icon at startup instead of merely the plain Apple logo. Is there a startup that includes this somewhere? (I've googled the cr*p out of it but came up empty handed).

And a related question...

My startup screen has always been low-res, like 1024 or maybe even 800x600, thus a fuzzy Apple (and before that, a fuzzy XP logo and status bar.) My monitor is 19" and runs at 1280x1024...any idea how to get a nice crisp startup logo from it?

You could try searching themexp.org, they have a ton of boot screens there, you might be able to find what you're looking for

The startup screen for Windows XP is only capable of 16 colors and 800x600 resolution.

Animation on the XP boot process is limited to an image/color shift.

The starup bar in the default boot screen is just an image that is shifted in 3 frames from left to right.

There is no way to get the XP boot loader to make the spinning animation that Apple uses.
