I've been pretty quite in the forums since my last post. That was the release of Delphi SDK. This doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything. I've been very busy in Real Life (Marriage) and with Andreas with the upcoming 1.3. Been converting the new api and implementing them in my upcoming AveScripter. I've attached a video showing the avescripter and couple of xml sample files. Video will show just a brief idea of what I'm doing and the sample XML will show you how simple it is to create the desklets with this scripter. The engine uses the scripting engine of the os Java/VB. I've also include XML "engine" so you can attach layer to a XML value be it text or image.
This is only the first part of my project. Once the scripter engine is at a "Completed" level, I'll be doing an other software that will allow less "Tech Savy" people to create desklets for the scripter using a drag drop interface with all available options. This will make it easier for future desklets. ![]()
There is still lots of work to be done at the scripter and I know in the future people will request more features. I can't think of all of them and at one point I'll have to just say done for now, I'll go back to it when the 2nd project is done. Stuff left (Effects like Scrolling Text for stock tic, Parameter to save settings, Object model in the Scripting, and more will come to mind while I program it :slant:
Mostly just wanted to let people know that there is something really fun coming out and to get people more hyped.
Avi Preview (DivX) will show 2 calculators and 1 Weather desklet (I took the icons from sysstat version)
One of the calculators was a port from Konfabulator. Port didn't take that long to do since it was a clean desklet done in Konfabulator.
XML (Skin files) will be the from 1 calculator and weather, you will get the idea how the Skin is defined and how things tie up. Also a javascript that is tied with the calculator.
PS.. Sorry I'm using attachments.. haven't setup any place for my stuff yet. But that's also on my list to do ![]()
