Aqua-Soft Forumsinspired by a simaler poll in appleinsider.com, i decided to make this thread to fantasize and predict what the next powerbooks would have.
so,
i would like (realistically, possibly, but very unlikely):
i would like the graphcis cards to be improved. hopefully x600 mobility for 12 inch and mobility x800 (if there is one), a 2.3, 2.5, and 2.7 ghz powerbook g5s with double the height for obvious reasons, battery that can recharge in 10% of time (this company acheived that so this is realistic too) dual harddrives for maximum of 240 Gb, have 5.1 surround ports on all models, a bit more advanced trackpad with multiple buttons, and i would expect this configuration to be a bit heavier. LOL.
now, this is my predictions on the future powerbook update.
cpu: i have no idea really. but it's probably most likely to be a g4 with 1.67 ghz and 1.7 with double L2 and L3 cache. but this is quite unrealistic actually though. :slant:
Harddrive: starts at 80gb, (for 12 inch) and ends at 120 max.basically +20gb for every model. this is because ibooks can now have 100gb, which makes the powerbooks more unwanting. so, apple will have to make the powerbooks stand out more with a harddrive upgrade.
Graphics card:in response to the ibook update the 12 will most likelly sport a geforce go 5700 64 mb, or a radeon 9700 mobility while the 15/17 will sport either a x700 mobility or a x600 one practically the same video memory configurations and options as before.
Screen: same. maybe better brightness and little changes
battery Life: very unlikelly, but it might be improved. seeing our ibooks and powerbooks lose battery life each update due to demanding hardware, it should be time to kick the computer-on-battery back up to when aluminum 12 inch 17 powerbooks were just introduced in 2003.
optical drive: won't be updated
touchscreen: very unlikely, but seeing that apple released a mouse that has 4 buttons, why not do the same for trackpads? have this two button trackpad with that same screwball......oops. i mean scrolball near the trackpad 
keyboard: very unlikelly and hopefully, but possible:. the 12 inch will now also have that autosensing lighting technology that the 15+ models have. and,even more unlikely the 17 inch models might have a slightly diffrent and more complete keyboard
ports: i have no clue :slant: but best guess is no change.
above is my prediction and hopes.
and, i voted for graphics card, with Hard drive update to be very very close after that.
