[help] Network Problems

Hi everyone,

I have this wierd problem that I cant seem to get fixed.

I have a Pentagram Cerberus router (http://www.hardwax.pl/pentagram_cerberus_adsl_13074.html) and I have 4 comps all connected to my network. The problem is, all of them seem to have the same IP address (on the net not inside my network). I went to one of those whats-your-IP sites and it shows the same IP on each of my computers. This doesnt seem to cause any problems except for the fact that I cant play any online games whatsoever (on lan niether) and VNC doesnt work. Infact, the only communication between comps inside the network that seems to work is shared folders.

Do you know how I can fix this ?

Is the problem the configuration of the router ? And if so what needs to be reconfigured ?

I hope somone can help me here cause Im pretty desperate

P.S.

Also, If I do a port scan on the IP address that seems to belong to all my comps

it shows I have a bunch of open ports, but when I port scan the LAN IPs of the comps, none of

them have open ports. Why ?

Well, all of the computers are going to share an external IP address, that's how the router works. Some routers do allow you to pass through your IP address to the outside, but mine at least only allows that to work with one computer at a time.

Not sure why computer communication between your comps doesn't work.

The open port thing....well...your router may have some open ports (it'd have to to communicate with the WAN). What are you using to scan the ports?

Well, then there is no way I can play online games with this setup? Isnt there some way to

configure the router to give each pc a different external IP ? Games arent even my biggest

problem, the problem is VNC and bittorrent. I cant use VNC and I really need it, cause I have like 5

pcs and only 1 monitor so I have to walk around switching the cable, and my bittorrent speeds are

like 5 kb/s at most, with a 768 kb/s connection. By the way, I was using the osx network utility to

scan the ports.

I know next to nothing about playing online games, mebbe somebody else should help there.

bittorrent though....what client are you using? If you're not getting any remote connections to peers, your firewall is blocking the ports your client needs. I use bitcomet (port 12242) and azureus (6881-6999), and I had to open those ports in my firewall, and play around with my DSL modem too. www.portforward.com helps a lot with that.
