Well even if the icon can be any size, you should probably make a custom one of 16x16, because the larger the image is, the more distorted it will look when it is squished to the small size.
IE has big problems displaying this.
IE displays them sometimes, but they're eeasier to see in Firefox :/.
where will i put this ? in the index.html or the stylesheet? and by root folder do you mean www.myweb.com/root? can't i put it inside the images folder perhaps? really appreciated everyone's help here. thank you all amigos!
"root" folder is where your home index.html lies -> i.e. www.myweb.com/index.html
and IMO it is not necessary to add just put favicon.ico in to the root...
but as people told - IE will show it when it wants... not very offten :|
