[Question]s Menu , programminglanguage, video presentations.

I have some questions for my personal project. It is a UI program, So easy to configure. I had many doubts, so i thought i could ask it togetther .

So Developers and other Aquasofters could help me.

1) What would be a Ideal excellent menu like? (ex start menu , kde-gnome menus)

What basis should it be? (start menu doesnt sort by groups, but kde's does, which i find useful.

2) What programming language should i start for my project? I have some basic knowledge of many.

3) What is the program to record videos of desktop , for example like Ave does.? I tried Captivate , WInk , But they all could save only in flash. Also I couldnt get any swf2avi converters right. Also small swf is of large size, even compressed. i want some presentations to done. (i searched here, the proggies are old.)

I can help on #2, for easy UI development you should try Visual Basic .NET or C# .NET.

On #3, I think Ave used Hypercam. I haven't use it before though and it's not freeware but you can trial it..

1) menu's are a broken metaphore. Try to avoid them as much as possible.

2) Delphi, C, C++, Haskell, whatever you like I guess. Delphi would be easy: no need for a VM/.net framework and access to all WINAPI's. Plus, you will get a visual designer and a nice abstracted windowing model for free.

BTW Ave, i accept that delphi is easy,

But why not menus? is there any other way instead?
