Winamp3 No Longer The Supported Version

Interesting, but it makes sense. Winamp 2.91 is much better than 3. The only thing it lacks is freeform skins, which I dont care about.

They should make it more clear though, most people would just download 3, it makes sense.

I prefer winam 2.x because it just works and it uses relatively little resources. I Think they really flubbed with winamp 3. From what I read though winamp2.9's theming system will be changed, where in winamp3 everything was which wasn't such a good idea I guess.

A pretty good mp3 player was k-jofol but it's developers abandoned it to work at nullsoft.

I still use version 2.81, and i am not planning to install 2.9.

I almost never use the newest software, as long as the old one works good.

They made an interesting point in that thread, this is how they see it:

Winamp2 V.91

Winamp3 V.1

Its very similar to what they do in many open source programs. Like FreeBSD 5.0 is actually older than 4.8 , but its got new technology, while the 4.x series is just going through bug fixes.

I like it.
