(req) automount for Konfabulator

I am using Avedesk for automounting and Konfabulator for dashboard due to all the widgets

Is there a way to automount in Konfabulator?

I would like to only run one pro instead of two.

I'll check into this

Why would you want to use K for automounting widgets when AveDesk PIDL desklet uses 10-20kb of RAM while one K widget runs from 2-10mb?

AveDesk does't have all the Dashboard widgets that Konfabulator does. and as I stated before I like the automout feture for CDs and usb/firewire drives when I plug them in. I would rather have one program running as opposed to two. Also I've been having problems with Ave's showcase feature with the dashboard datebook. (wich maybe a sysstats problem though).

Again, why not run Ave for drives/mounting and K for the rest of the widgets?

That way you'd get the K widgets you need plus save some RAM by running AveDesk.

I`m not forcing anyone to use AveDesk, i`m just trying to find the reason behind this.

i understand where hes coming from. while avedesk may be a great program and use less resources, some people are comforted by using just one program, rather than having multiple programs running relatively the same functions.

i myself prefer konfabulator to avedesk, in ease of use and stability. and while avedesk may be just as stable- i feel more comfortable using an established application, rather than a 3rd party community app.

Not so much.

I would gladly use just Ave if I had a few more of the Dashboard widgets i.e. the calculator unit converter dictionary etc..

and will use AveDesk 1.3 if it turns out as cool as it looks to be and it has the widgets as well.

I personally use both its just easier to code widgets for konfabulator. If I were a programmer and could code the dlls for avedesk I would use it only . But thats the problem with avedesk and Im sorry systats didnt really help maybe in the future if the 2 get integrated together. With konfabulator it is esier to learn js and xml , other than that they are equal in my eyes

The problem i find with Avedesk is when drives are mounted and clicked the time delay between clicking and opening the drive contents is about twice or three times as long as if you were to click on a normal drive shortcut. It is this somewhat slow response that Avedesk 1.2 fails upon. Fingers crossed that 1.3 will resolve this problem and allow users fast responsive drive mounts as if they were just normal shortcuts. As far anything else, Avedesk uses very little resources and is able to produce Konfabulator stylee widgets. It would be interesting to see if drive mount widgets appear for Konfabulator and resposive how they are.

I don't think this would be so hard... maybe it would be alot easier said then done... Maybe a form of the widget dock by siosae would work. if you made it so each icon was moveable seperatly, and have the preferences that set icons, shortcuts, and labels/titles, that would pretty much be all you'd need...
