i've tried almost every ss for XP, & i'v just tried out this one for mac & i must say this is the best matrix ss i've ever seen :own: ( oh & BTW osX is the best os i'v ever seen too )

There is a perfect one out there but I can't remember where I got it from. So I am hosting it for y'all coz I KNOW how perfect it is...

Just uninstall the .zip file and move the Matrix.saver file to Hard Drive>Users>[your username]>Library>Screensavers

Then apply it by going to the Sys Prefs pane. Select the best settings for your display.

In my opinion, its so good its as if you're one of the operator people looking at a screen of the matrix. No flashy stuff like 3D, go for one of the above ones for that.

Run Samurize to check for CPU activity and temperature while running any 3D screen saver. Screen savers might "save" your screen but it gives unnecessary stress on the CPU and supposedly while it should be idle

But these DirectX9-driven screen savers are soo cool that they're worth runnin'.

with firebird/wmp running, cpu usage was at 30%

with my screensaver on 90% or more.

Looks like you're right - fortuntately my pc has 3 year warranty

The thing I like about the matrix reloaded screensaver that I mentioned is that you can configure it to be 2d or 3d, change the glyph size change speed of all the movements in 2d or 3d. Show a matrix type clock on it. Or even change the color of the glyphs and their highlight. Most things in it you can turn off or on. They even sent them a suggestion and they implemented it fast.

You can have it look like the old code or you can have it look like the more 3d code shown in the previews.

I used the matrix code emulator for quite some time but I got tired of it. On my computer the matrix reloaded screensaver actually has better performance than it.

The way I have it configured right now is to have it doing a dense code with small glyphs that you also fly through and I have a clock on so I can see the time overlayed over that. I think it looks cool.

To me the screensavers like the matrix code emulator and the OSX one are actually old hat, no offense.

Bah, I hate screensavers! It's the same crap as with splash screens - navel fluff. I let windows power off the screen instead. Ah well, each to his own.

LOL.. quite true.

I dont think people actually 'use' screensavers. I, on the other hand do.

On a mac you can set a hot spot in a corner of the screen. So if I move my mouse there, it activates. It comes handy when my mom suddenly enters my room and I was watching.. ..... :naughty:

At night I usually turn my monitor completely off, but in the daytime I like screensavers, except when I leave the house. That's one reason why I like the reloaded one because it has a clock function.

I probably don't even need them then and I don't get very many, I really only have the matrix ones installed out of any third party ones.

This is what I did which quite impressed the bosses at work. I collected pictures of the staff and the accomplishments of the company over the years. I then scanned these pictures and put these into one folder in the iBook. This folder is defined as a picture folder for the OS X screensaver/slideshow.

The iBook is what is usually used for presentations at work. So about 30 minutes before a meeting starts, I just run the screensaver! It's cool to see the picture effects (zooming, panning, and fading). But what's priceless is seeing the reactions of the people while seeing themselves on the overhead screen.

Instant icebreaker. Stress gone before the meeting. Happy bosses.

here's simply the best matrix screen saver (for PC) that i managed to come across within the last few weeks.. I found that it's better than really anyother "matrix" SS out there (except for the one my buddy had on his mac today.. but i'm talkin PC here ).
