Desktop Icons

One day i restarted my computer and i didnt have any desktop icons. I knew there were files and folders on it, and there still are- if you look in explorer. Also, it wont let me select anything.

I tried restarting it

try right clicking on the desktop and going to arrange icons bye, and make sure that the show desktop icons button is clicked.
