I have been presented with evidence that this program uses AveApps skins and that it mimics/clones Ave's skinning engine. I haven`t noticed any mention of Ave or a "thank you" note so i have contacted CFishSoft to clear this matter. Untill then, i am closing this thread and editing out the links to XDeskCal.

Unfortunally this is posted in the wrong sub-forum but since it`s a release i`m not going to do what i usually do.

i`ve been using the first version and it was really nice so i`m definatly going to try this one too.

Also please try to keep the image size down to the forum limits.

@oisee - hey, at least you should retain the 1.1 version on your server, because someone still might use it as dashboard datebook. Me myself would like to use both of it, on as datebook and one more as iCal. I will add it to osx-e downloads section, as soon as you fix all those bugs mention above.

this error message meaning:

You are trying to open a database or an object in a database that was created in another language edition of Microsoft Access

i had send mail to xdeskcal's support , them promises me resolve this problom in 24 hours...

RESOLUTION

Install or enable multilanguage support for your operating system.

NOTE: Even if you install multilanguage support, you cannot open a database if it requires a code page that is not supported by your operating system. If the database was created in a language that uses a type of character set supported by your operating system, you can open the database after you have enabled support for multiple languages.

To install multilanguage support in Windows 95/98 or Windows NT, please follow the steps in one of the following articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

#299625

I have multilanguage support installed, but what I've got was a fancy error: (yep, it may be a bit wide, but that's the error)

error.jpg

the italian part says "Syntax error (comma) in the query expression...". It may be that the person writing this program had a -particular- configuration using "," as a decimal separator ?

afraid I dont see anything pertaining to xp in that link. Besides that if Im going to pay for a program I should not have to install a bunch of things other than the program.

what about .net programs ? :P

#299655

a fancy error :(

i test it on win2000 and xp sp2 english version ,but never got these error~

how?

to dreadnaut:

after this error, your xdeskcal still run? or breakdown?

#299656

I get the error on xp/sp1 - after the error the program starts, but the calendar is an empty square, and every possible click just pops out the window again (except the min/max/close buttons)

[EDIT] I went to the international options in the control panel, and set the decimal separator to "." instead of ",", and now it works. The program should be indipendent for localization settings anyway. I set it back to ",", got the error again, uninstalled :slant:

I'm no mod, but I feel like I have to add a few things:

  • if you are part of CFishSoft, stop talking about "writing to the tech support", when the tech support replies to you twice in 6 minutes (no human techsupp does that...) and you keep testing and checking all errors
  • if you are not part of CFishSoft, you should tag the thread as [link] instead of [release]. The latter make us suppose the program is your work
  • you advertise/link the program only in one thread, only once. You can link this thread in other parts of the forum, everything will be more neat

These are just personal considerations. Instead forum rules kindly ask you not to post big images (like the brushed screenshot) and not to reply twice in a row (there is an edit button on the right) as you can read here. But this's Unbe's work :P

#299672

what about .net programs ? :P

Ya you have a good point there.
