minimize / maximize animation in windows

hey there i recently found out how to stop windows in windows xp from animating the minimizing and maximizing of windows (Right Click My Computer>Properties>Adavanced>Performance Settings>Uncheck 'Animate windows when mini....'). I do this but when my PC restarts it goes back to being checked....i don't know how to make it stick....(i don't want animated minimizing and maximizing because i have objectdock AND I DON'T INTEND TO CHANGE TO ANOTHER APP!)

Can anyone give me some advice on this matter?

....also how do i make it so that tasks don't show up in the taskbar?

For the taskbar tasks (tray icons) : right click the taskbar ->properties -> customize and hide or show any that taska that you want to appear in the taskbar (others will be hidden of course ).

For the animations when max/min , they way you do it it's correct and it shouldn't change back once it's unchecked that box.

thats the tray man not the tasks themselves...anyone else?

anyone else have the same problems out there with the minimizing and maximizing?...is there a reg key that i could edit?

This problem may be caused by StyleXP if it is set to re-apply theme on each reboot because Windows restores the option to animate windows on VS change.

im using a uxtheme.dll - this is a strange problem indeed as it still does the same thing after i restart ... btw i reformatted my hard-drive the other day and i had the same problem before it did that....maybe it's a problem with Windows XP SP2 for Home Edition

Running xp sp2 home edition for a good while now and no problems whatsoever ;)

well after every restart the minimizing and maximizing animation gets reactivated no matter what i do it must be a glitch...it's always been like that...i still want to find an app that hides the tasks that are in the taskbar so that the task bar is blank...any ideas?
