helllo i am a **** to everything here and i downloaded avedesk. i want to make my desktop icons like the ones that people have using avedesk like these seen here http://www.deviantart.com/view/19660910/
i am getting really frustradted because i can figure out how to do this. would some1 please give me a lesson for a "dumb person" on what to do so i can make the my icons have cool fonts and such..... thanks

1. First off, Download Fonts. (NOT ALL FONTS ARE FREE)
Fonts Can Be Found At: www.dafont.com/en
--------------------TEXT POSITION--------------------
2. If you want the Text On The Side He has it, Use these settings: http://img281.echo.cx/img281/3953/avedeskhowto4yf.png. Its actually quite easy, ill post more settings to tell you how to get the text on Other Sides/Positions of the Desklet. ( I HAVE NOW INCLUDED PICTURES AT BOTTOM FOR OTHER TEXT POSITIONS)

3. Changing the Icon/PNG is quite simple as well, Just click on the Appearance Tab and click the button right under the image that says Set Image and locate your Icon/PNG. (Refer To Picture At Bottom Of Post)

4. So you want the apple he has on his desklet? You just need to Download the "OBFont" located here http://free-st.htnet.hr/crni/Index.html At the top of teh Site.(PLACE IN YOUR FONT FOLDER C:WINDOWSFonts or The Control Panel) Then open your "Character Map" by going to "Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Character Map." In The top of CM(Character Map) it says "Font" Locate the OBFONT By Scrolling Down the List. "FIND THE APPLE LOGO" and click it and then click the Button "Select" and then the Button "Copy". go to the Avedesk Properties of the Desklet you want to change the Caption of, it says it right above the blank, right click, and paste what you have copied in there. (Refer To Picture At Bottom Of Post)

5. The Apple should be there,, if not restart your computer after saving your configuration by right clicking on Avedesk Systray icon and going to Application - Save Configuration. (Refer To Picture At Bottom Of Post)
(if you do it right you should have your desklet looking like my buddy rean. if not post a screeny and ill see what i can do

Again, you can get fonts from www.dafont.com/en , the side also has many other links to get even more fonts. not all fonts people use are free though, some are payware and you will have to get them on your on.
