Statistic software

Hi All

Does anyone know were cai I find a software for statistics for Mac OS X Tiger? I need that for my research

Mathematica can do basicly everything you need, but wasnt made specifically for statistical analysis. Unless you're an expert in statistical analysis and mathematica, I wouldn't recommend that program. I mean, I use mathematica every day (or at least several times a week), but I only use it for statistical analysis when I need nice 3d plots, or some exotic statistic that no other program can calculate for me (and believe me, that's rare).

SPSS is a nice alternative, but also payware. It's pretty easy to insert data, has a good help file, has a graphical user interface (which means you wont have to insert lots of formula or code to get some output),...

But honestly, "statistics" is one big denominator. What is it the subject of your research? What are you hypotheses? What kind of data are you going to be using? How many cases are you working with? How are your cases coded?

Without answers to these questions, it's hard to give a good answer...

Otherwise, Mathematica, Maple, or MS Excel and some handwork.
