[link] iTunes 4.9
Just tried it.. mplugin doesn't seem to work at all (crashes at start). Doesn't look like a particularly important update.. back to 4.8 for the time being..![]()
you can delete QT_004 from the SkinsMac OSXExtended folder and it will work.
Background skinning is gone in this version
The background mask isn't where it was anymore.
Could anyone with a Mac open iTunes.qtr (from iTunes for windows) in a resource editor and tell me if the background mask is still there?
there is a "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder in My MusiciTunes. There is a backup of the library there.
Cool finding localhost
Am i the only one supprised to see that Apple.com displays iTunes 4.8 as the "new version"?
Oh and the iTunes icon on the download page looks jagged and badly compressed :slant:
EDIT: I guess localhost stumbled upon a early xmas present ![]()
Apple.com/iTunes still lists 4.8 as the "new" version
I just updated to the lates iTune 4.8 last night haha, oh well here goes, thanks for the headsup!
aaarrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhh.... today morning I downloaded and installed 4.8.0.32, bloody 20 mb of it... and not less than 10 hours and I gotta download another 20 mb 4.9... bah...

darn-it, I ain't upgrading.
edit: (deleted dumb question)
Well, I was anticipating 4.9 (for podcast support) but now I'm not very excited since Mplugin (both 0.64 and 0.65), aren't working with it... and I'm gonna miss Foobar passthrough till LocalHost updates it... ![]()
Foobar passthrough works. The only thing that doesn't are most of the skins. If you delete the Extended folder in the folder of the skin, everything works.
huh so the new version of multiplugin is no longer new enough! when will it end....they only released 4.8 a few weeks ago...i think theyre working their way up to five...by every tenth but not actually adding many features
-iTunes 5 has a ring to it lol though

Oh.. dumb me.. you mentioned that before in the thread.. :slant:
anyway that works great mate, but the MM keys still doesn't.. ![]()
i thought 4.9 was going to include alot of special features?
apple is lowly turning into microsoft
and none of you cant prove me wrong
inconsistent company dropping new releases without major updates sad theres people out there that praise apple like its a god
ohh well

And what did big, bad Apple promise you honey? What did they leave out that made my lil munchkin angry?
The only thing ANYONE from Apple was talking about was Podcasting and, look at that! Podcasting support in iTunes! ![]()
What do you expect from a .1 update? A blowjob plugin?
podcast support isnt a major update?

What, like you werent?
(and nice going on the choice of words there mate)
I kinda like the BJPI thing. Who knows, iTunes 5.0 & iPod 5 Gen, Here's hoping!!
/crosses fingers
So what is a "podcast"? You can play music from your iPod?
This update seems more significant with the addition of a feature I may actually use, podcasting. Other than that I've noticed little change since 4.1; well that I actually use. I've been more impressed with the progress of mplugin than iTunes itself.
I think it comes down to the fact that iTunes does not adopt sub point releases. Instead of implying a significant change by a entire .1 we could have 4.8.2 etc. In reality Apple do release point updates but don't advertise a new version. Similar to WinDVD for example, every now and then they update the program but don't display the change on the website.
Define inconsistent !!!!inconsistent company dropping new releases without major updates
Microsoft - 2001-2005 : Windows XP & Windows XP Service Pack 2, Office XP & Office 2003, DirectX 9 & 9a, 9b, 9c......
Apple - 2001-2005 : Mac OSX, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, iTunes 4 for windows, iWork, iLife, QuickTime 7, numbers of new technologies with each OS release....
And as far as I remember (from MWSF notes), apple never said or made propoganda of iTunes 4.9 as major upgrade except the fact including PodCasting support. I don't know if Steve personally promised you something major about this, that would different story then, wouldn't it? ![]()
why is ordinary_people even a member of aqua-soft still if he hates apple?
