I downloaded a Dashboard Widget in windows. It was widgetname.wdgt.zip. I unzipped the file, and opened index.html. It opened the basic structure of the widget. Widgets are made of JavaScript, HTML and CSS, which is why I tried.

i don't think there's a program that can run it like tiger, but because it's javascript it can be run using other methods. but i don't know how though.
I was thinking maybe someone could run it somehow.
I doubt it cause Dashboard widgets rely on Java, but also use Carbon/Cocoa plugins, AppleScript and other stuff that relies on OSX.

When you download a .wdgt on Windows boxes, you just get the resources.
When you download a .wdgt on Tiger boxes, you get the widget.
Dashboard widgets can't run on Windows (yet...)
the other day i was thinking, you know how you can run a dashboard widget in safari on a mac?
well can you run the widget in a browser on windows?

Dashboard is overrated. Just give me a machine with Luna installed and the taskbar on the bottom part of the screen, and I'll be good.

uhh.. whats the question? is there no dashboard xp? yes, there isn't one.
Windows users have a lot of widget applications like Konfabulator and AveDesk, which have dashboard widget clones for them already.
Us mac users have konfabulator and dashboard.
