Uxtheme.dll Patch For Dell

My friend just got a Dell, and asked me to help him customize his desktop. Problem is, I can't find a uxtheme patch that works on his machine.

Any advice?

I have downloaded the patch from several sources, tried both sp1 and non sp1 with no luck.

probably whats happened is windows as restored the original.

Make sure you patch it in loads of places:

C:\i386

C:\windows\i386

C:\windows\system32

C:\windows\system32\dllcache

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

There may be even more places on your machine

yeah maybe cos it's a brand comp u have an other folder named "system restore file", anyway, make a search in the comp (including hidden & system files) for uxtheme.dll, & make sure each instance is replaced...

Well be clear if you have SP1 or if you dont so I can change this patch to non SP1 and vice versca.
