Objectbar And Y'z Shadow?

Hey guys, i've got a strange problem, I just started using objectbar and when ever i try to turn on Y'z shadow, all my windows get swept off the side of the screen where I cant see them anymore? Is there a way to avoid that? Or is there another program that I can use to make shadows under the taskbar?

Any help would be appreciated.

this is why i dont use yzshadow...

yzshadow did the same sh## to me. everytime i opened a window it pulled it off the screen to the left. so close it and get rid of it ASAP! use winfx!

This can happen sometimes if you have move windows down if your taskbar is at at top on.

hmm i dont think there is one either. yeah sorry about that i forgot that i run objectbar all day long ;)

#26475

so pete, on your desktop screenshots, how do you have drop shadows on your taskbar? Photoshoping or does objectbar have the option?

#26476

winfx skins objectbar not the regular taskbar. if you look at all my screenies note i got ob open all the time

is there any way to get rid of the shadows on objectbar when a window is maximized?

#26483

i don't use objectbar, but maybe if you set it so that it was not always on top, and then set the windows to only maximize to a certain size (only covering up the shadow, not the bar)

note: i haven't tried this, but it may work

I have not tried using Object Bar yet, but I see 99% of the Desktop pics posted use it...

I have gone to HardwareGeeks.com and saw Peteross's thread on his great looking Aqua OB themes...I see that there is a new one out..

I just reviewed a thread @ AquaXP, where a member purchased ObjectBar, and although it did create the more 'realistic' Mac OS X GUI, he was quite disappointed with OB glitches that it caused him to return the product...

I do run Yz Dock 0081 and Yz Shadow v1.9, but I see that there is a compatibility issue between OB and Yz Shadow...

Are all this pics posted on Desktop thread with ObjectBar installed, running without Yz Shadow installed...if so then it is (at least for me) a 'Catch-22' situation either run OB or Yz Shadow???

LOL...ok, just reviewed this thread again! I see that if you want to run ObjectBar and have 'shadowing' effects then you need to purchase WindowsFX...

Or subscribe to Object Desktop...then you get ObjectBar, WinFX, DesktopX, Windowblinds, and other stuff. For the price of two separate apps, you get all of them, plus the ability to download betas of all the products as they're released.

That said, I've experienced enough glitches with Objectbar, I finally unloaded it from my system.

hallf,

OK...thanks for the info...I have contacted another members and their experience is mixed!

To be expected though for each system is different...My laptop has a Plll, and I do 'maintenance' on it at least once a week (i.e. full Chk Dsk run), defrag with Diskeeper (Boot-Time Defrag), ect., but some of my colleagues who also keep their systems very clean, full system maintenance are also getting glitches while running ObjectBar...

So at least for the time being, I will forego running ObjectBar, and be happy with my system as is...Full WinXP SP1 Replacement Files from Iceman, and the fantasic VS themes that we have available: Iceman's Jag 2.01, KoL's iTunes & Aqua, SmoothStripes (all latest) with Sunken Button Style, iTunes buttons, & Blue color, running MrAqua's Savanna 0090sp2 browser...Yz Dock 0081, Yz Shadowv1.9, Yz toolbar 1.3 (when I run my IE 6 sp1a browser)...

I know that our colleague KoL was going to work on a Yz Toolbar Safari theme, when his Exams were over... Like all his work should be great!

;)

I found the answer to your question, in YzShadow settings under the Taskbar tab, uncheck the checkbox that says something like Automatically adjust the position of the taskbar...etc.

If you do that, you should be fine!
