Miranda suspending AIM names after periods of time...

Has anyone experianced Miranda IM suspending AIM screen names for no reason? I have lost 2 screen names with Miranda, and they seem to reset the password. Now AOL isn't sending me my password info and I am stuck without IM.

Anyone have this happen to them, or know how to fix it?

It's happened to me before... it changed my password. I just requested a lost password and I changed it back. This hasn't happened to me in awhile, and I always use Miranda. Make sure you have the latest version 0.4.0.1.

i so wish miranda would lose the stupid toc protocol... i'm sure that has something to do with it

plus i would like miranda to be able to read aim away messages and do aim file transfers and the like

@Dreams--It CHANGED YOUR PASSWORD?

That happened to me a long time ago, but I figured it was a bot. It actually happened several times--was I right in my original assumption, or do you think it was Miranda?

I think it has something to do with the old AIM protocol it uses and that it's a 3rd party program.

Yeah it changed my password to some random characters like "df31s52sa."

Ugh, that sounds similar to what happened to mine--the random numbers led me to believe it was a bot.

Ah well, glad to know that someone wasn't out for my password ;).

Thanks,

Yeah, it changes your password. It sucks now because I lost ANOTHER screen name and now AOL isn't sending my password to my email. Can't wait till I get my iBook and get on Adium. ;)

It may be related to TOC, yes, but nobody really knows.

AIMOSCAR for Miranda is, however, something which will come. It just needs some time. We arent't a huge project and got only a hand full of developers with the required knowledge to write a complex IM network protocol.

Well I got my mac, made a new screenname and I am happy. HTML profiles, w00t!

It seems to only happen after you send a link to someone. (not always)
