Itunes Skin

This is the third generation of this skin:

originally released as "iTunes for WMP" by Tommichi - http://members.tripod.co.jp/tomichi_a/skin.html

It was translated to english by Cypher 1942 "Itunes9series1-0" - http://www.customize.org/details/23553

When I found it I like most was dissatisfied by it's lack of Media Library integration.

I have attempted to remedy this by providing a selectable Album Title Listing down the left hand side.

I've also changed the Taskbar title from "Windows Media Player" to "Itunes"

Slight bugs remain, some from the original skin and some from my changes

(Don't click below the last item in the album list)

Have a go and give me some feedback.

I'd like to add a proper Itunes Graphical Media listing on the left hand side.

The problem is the WMP SDK limits the controls you can use and the only list based control is a text listbox. The long term soloution will be with a seperate button group showing the different media icons, to make it feel as though it is working even if it is not.

The other thing to get working will be the search box, that shouldn't be too hard though.

I think its easily the best wmp skin out there.

just some things though, isn't itunes 4 supposed to have the ifix buttons or have i misunderstood that whole argument? what would be great would be to switch between ifix and standard aqua in a click through the skin changer

You probably know about this:

see how the text on the left looks a bit weird compared to that on the right.

Sorry, I meant 4 as in 'for' its actually an Itunes 3 skin I realised as soon as I posted but you can't edit post titles.

I'll try and get a screenshot for Itunes4 and work on another Skin for it. I could integrate it into the same skin so that it is an option which version you want.

The font was a bug in my code. instead of fontface="aerial" I had fonface,

I've also made it smallersize=8 instead of 10 and enabled the searchbox.

Currently my version only searches for a full track name, I might work on some wildcard searching for it before I release this newer version.

Heres a quick Update:

Itunes for WMP V2

As you can see the Font Size and face on the left is similar to that on the right.

Also the Search box now works typing in a word or phrase and hitting enter will search for all track titles for any with that word or phrase in them.

Thirdly there was a bug that didn't load albums with a "Quotation mark" in the title. (see above 12"-Private Stock) this is now corrected.

Finally I set about fixing some of mr tommichi's original bugs in the source code so the colums should autosize a little better, and it should save some settings and reload them again.

No, because it's conner's code, and Duckies QCD skin graphics. I changed pieces here and there to get it all to fit together. If conner wants me to send him the skin I can, and he can use whatever parts/fix issues with it, if duckie gives permission that is.

Yep Fair enough, failing that I'll fire up my G4 at the weekend (It's in storage ATM)

download Itunes 4 and capture the images myself.

I'm about to start on V3 of Itunes with a complete rewrite.

The entire skin will have to be redrawn from the ground up in order to add to add the new features I'm intending to put in. This will also prevent future issues regarding image copyright.

I do have some minor updates to v2 to release and if there is interest, I will release that as v2.1.

Otherwise V3 should have the following features:

Optional Itunes 4 Skinning

Full Media Library Support with Album and Artist Options Other Media Library items Radio Stations/Playlists

Fully Resizeable

Anything else I should add before I start work?

nothing, cant wait sounds to be 2 f***ing true one thing that would be sweet, is when u click the max button or restore button, it shrunk to the mini player, then press again and goes to the full player(not wmp, itunes) that would rule

also for album art in real itunes its a menu that slides up from buttom in the playlist section incase u didn't know

What about a scalable one? It would be great in order no see videos in a bigger screen...? Or a "separate scalable video monitor" or something like that...

Connor please release 2.1 skin since wihout ur skin i wouldn`t even use WMP!

There r 2 things i would ask u 2 consider.

1st is to make the skin resizable since i use my WMP for watching videos and DivX and if i wanna watch it full size i must switch to full mode which sucks compared to ur skin.

2nd is PLEASE make a version with aqua buttons. i thin iFix buttons doSuck!
