[help] do all dashboard widgets require internet connection?

Hi. i'm just wondering which dashboard widget needs internet connectivity. for example. wikipedia, default dashboard thesarus/dictionary, translater, and unit converter. do they need to access a server to do what they need to do?

for example. i'm i french class with an ibook and i want to translate "I" to french. then it will be "Je". do i need to access the internet to do that or does the computer have it's own database?

I am quite sure the Dictionary, Translator, and Unit Converter widgets have their own databases, except for the Unit Converter (in some cases) which can convert currency, in which case it draws the last known exchange rate (from the Internet).

You're thinking of grabbing a Mac? Me too. I'm moving to China and I need a new computer. iMac G5. :)

By the way, are you just beginning to learn French? ... You are translating the simplest word in the language. :D

i only have one year of french and i do know a lot more than that ok? but it's only one year at school though so it's quite simple.

so translater and wikipedia aren't available without internet? ok.

Of course not. Did you expect teh whole wikipedia to be downloaded with the widget?

yep ;) i wanted it to be a seperate download and a widget will just help access the database in the computer.
