Msstyles, Windowblinds, or Styler?

Hey guys,

I didn't "reformat" my computer. my harddrive broke, so I had to get a replacement. What this means is essentially everything is a clean slate again, which also means re-aquafication. I've been thinking more recently though, do I want to continue using Windowblinds? Having my computer all clean makes me realize how great it is to have a speedy computer and i really want to have that last as long as possible. There aren't any themes coming out for WB like ever, but from what I hear, it uses less resources than .msstyles do, and it has more benefits, like left sided buttons, etc. Anyways, so what should I use? theres also styler which is fairly new but getting popular. Much help would be appreciated. Oh, and if I DO use .msstyles, what program should I use?

I've always used msstyles and every time I try something different it never works out and even if it does, I go back to using msstyles.

IMO it's really up to you. The debate of WindowBlinds vs. msstyles in terms of efficiency has become somewhat irrelevant in the face of today's modern computers. Really, the few MB of memory difference or the few % of CPU usage difference if any is negligible, only looks different on paper but feels the same in practice. Furthermore, I think that Stardock's SkinStudio does a fairly good job of converting msstyles -> wba and it shouldn't be too hard to move the buttons to the left once that is done. However, I am really enjoying Styler now with its quick theme changing, font changing, toolbars, etc. I've tried WindowBlinds, really loved it, but ran into compatability problems, whereas msstyles have always remained perfectly compatable with my needs.

Ultimately, I think your real debate is whether to aquafy your computer or keep it clean and speedy. Between hacked uxtheme.dll, WindowBlinds, and Styler however, I personally would plunk down the money for Styler just because 1) I am using msstyles and Styler gives me full advantage of them allowing me to make font/toolbar customizations 2) it seems geared towards aquafication (such as toolbars, font changing, etc.).

Styler is one of the best customization tools to grace this earth, and unless I'm mistaken, Susumu is working on an option for left-sided glyphs in the next release.

I use WB in combo with Skinstudio so any .msstyles I wanna use I just use Skinstudio to convert them to a WB friendly format.

But not for long...

WB is the best for me.. for the real feeling of Mac.. ressource and all, is better..just a little but better, and not just on paper... But..but i think Styler is the futur yes.. if had facility to have glyph on the left and ''roll up'' button like Mac and WB... For the moment its the best of two world to have WB and Styler for toolbar..(my opinion)

Just rest to wait for new futur release of wb (the soft)

Personally, I use WB + Styler Toolbar for the most accurate emulation ever.

What you should use is simply a matter of personal perference and taste since resource usage is no longer an issue.

I got the best Mac emulating tool around; a Mac.

WindowsBlinds is nice if you have the money to spend. I have not used Styler to give my opinion on that. The major problem I have with MSStyles is that you cannot put the glyphs on the left side of the window. Whenever I am on my PeeCee (Copyright seXXI) not running WindowBlinds, it takes me a while to get used to which side I need to go to.

does anyone know if theres a program other than styler toolbar that emulates the styler toolbar functions? reason is i already have WB purchased, and i dont want to have to buy another program. thanks
