Firefox TBE Mod

This is my version of TBE mod. thanx to badseed & newavecr for beta testing.

preview by newavecr (don't ask about the theme)

Normal Themes : Customize on your own

SafariFox Themes:

Check under misc to use mac os x style. (moves the close button over and adds the left and right edges)

Tab Appearance -> Advance -> Default (use the close buttons from the theme)

use compact menu extension to remove the menu bar -> move navigation bar buttons to the top -> uncheck navigation bar (moves that link you see cutting thru the tab to the bottom of the tab)

ok this is the june 8 version. i tried it out so far and it seems stable enough. no idea if its my edits or tabextention itself. try it out i guess this is a beta then. i has all the icons for list tabs etc in it as well just for taking the point from the other tabextention mod. << this issue is over.

Thanks it works great, but I noticed that it makes my Firefox lag... like there's a delay when opening and changing tabs. Also, sometimes Firefox crashes upon startup.

It is true about the lag. it has too much coding in it for any program to take lightly. i am guessing but that was why the mozilla website highly recommended people not install it. the author himself has said this about it. and i myself have found alot of weird stuff in just the tabextentions.xml. i can't help that unless he redoes the whole extention from scratch. i have had one crash upon startup for firefox too. no idea what went wrong. i'm not even sure it was the tabextentions since upon startup it is only one tab and doesn't need much loading ! thanx for the info.

Tab Text is cut off ? i don't get that at all. did you follow the instructions for tabextentions. the hills site is gone so i'm not sure if i can direct you to the directions. from what i mod this much i can say. tab text2 which is used in the tabextentions for making it safarifox is slightly above the normal alignment therefore if you don't have tabextentions it appears unreadable. btw your text size looks big. what size is that ? sorry i can't change it to tab text one cause its set in the skins themselves.

Ok. first things first, what limiting bug ???? oh and i have been trying firefox with tabextentions for months and weeks i tried with it installed and uninstalled tabextentions. this is my conclusion... there is NO lag. i don't feel anything and can't see where you find the lag bug. please tell me what settings you have cause me and badseed tried abusing it with 28 tabs open and closing them and still no lag. i'm using it right now in fact and still nothing. no crash at all. *shrug* just refer to what i wrote back there if you also feel the lag. oh oh oh and i'm trying something new in this version. i am trying to fix that alignment issue for the other guy. comments !

Here is how it works. for normal skins like default it firefox it works like tabextention should work.

For safarifox skins. check under misc to use mac os x style. then for appearance select the default to use the close buttons from the theme itself.

Hello guys,

i have a little problem with RULER's FF Safari and Stomp 1.1 skins tabs. i followed the instructions, everything went good. But i have a line that underlines the text in my active tab. Also can i increse the entire tab bar height size becauce my close tab bar button is half shown?

screenshot ? do you have compact menu extension ? hide navigation bar + shift all the buttons upwards ? hide close bar button. i tried it out when ruler and the ff skins came out it works fine. no issue with the line. that line is the bottem of the tab. i also don't find the lag problem.

1st pic: because u enable menu toolbar, if u use compact menu, and then move buttons (back,forward, reload, stop, home), adress bar and search bar to menu toolbar. and right click on empty navigation toolbar-> untick navigation toolbar. This might solve the theme. Or without move everything, u need to mod the theme tab background image.

2nd pic: u can disable it under tab extension preferences -> appereance -> Tab bar -> (untick) Show "Current Close Tab" button

3rd: Put this line in userchrome.css, if u dont have yet, then create and put under C:Documents and Settings{username}Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesdefault.xxxchromeuserChrome.css

In userChrome.css put this line:

If not center, change 2px under "margin-bottom:" line to what ever till its center.

centres the text for his not centre url bar text.

sorry i meant install compact menu and use it. you have to customize and drag the DOT to any of the bars and then you will see that the menu bar is not usable for the navigation buttons. like what oldskull said. its really simple.
