Win Ipod 1.30 Update

For some reason Apple has not released the 1.30 update for the iPod for the Windows platform.

Here is a download link to an iPod updater updates an iPod to 1.30 on a PC.

The iPod firmware was extracted from the 1.30 updater for MacOS9 and inserted the new firmware into the older windows updater (1.2.6).

This is not the official software so it could screw up your iPod, so I do NOT take any responsibility for what happens to your computer or your iPod if you use this software.

But I wouldn’t worry the software worked great for my iPod and it is now running 1.30 just fine.

iPod Software 1.3 Update

The iPod Software 1.3 Update provides iTunes 4 support,

including playback of AAC encoded audio files (Mac-only). Additional

enhancements include audio playback and user interface improvements,

increased playback time on scroll-wheel iPods, and longer stand-by time

for all iPods.

i dont know if im gunna update mine to 1.3.

Who cares about the backlight in the menu, anc AAC format, which i dont use.

Beric, do you know if they are going to release 2.0 for old iPods?
