Aqua-Soft ForumsFor the past few years I have been a strong Linux user and at some point did not even use Windows for longer then 5 minutes for about two years straight. Lately I started using Windows because I simply do not have as much time and it is just so damn comfortable to have everything just work. I became all about features and everything being integrated and all that.
The only problem that I am having with one of my everyday applications is IM clients. Naturally at first I was using Gaim, seeing what other clients and even the official clients are capable of I simply stopped using Gaim and went to look for something better.
I went to check out the official AIM client and the ads just killed me! It was uninstalled right that second.
Everyone kept talking about Trillian and I absolutely love some of the features it had. For example the spell checker plugin, and basic features like webcam all working properly. But the looks were just bleh, coampred to;
Looking at the screenshots Miranda IM skinning looks amazing, especially the CSS templates for the chat window itself. But I am again at square one, it got the looks but not the features.
I am just wondering if there is anything else out there, or is there a way to make one client work the way I want it. I am looking for MirandaIM look, all basic features that official clients have, and some basic plugin support like spell checking. Is there anything out there?
