[Request] .rm Online Radio Station Player for Mac OS X

Hello Mac Using Softians!

I am posting today because, while at work, I listen to a very funny radio program from Colombia... The problem is, that it starts 2 hours before i leave home from work and instead of listening to it for 5 hours (that it lasts), only 2 hours of my day are unbored by it (yes, that is a new word now)...

I would like to be able to record the shows on my mac, daily and take them to the office as MP3's or whatever (Even .rm would do)...

For that I need a software that can stream the feed and be able to record it (not sure if the payversion of Real OS X can do that - nor would i ever pay for freaking real player)...

Anyone? :)

Thank you...

Is the original format of the stream in .rm? I know you can record mms:// streams using VLC - pretty sure something similar could be done if it was a different format.

Hope this helps.

??

It's all gibberish to me, I have no mac. ;)

#290747

Hmmm - let me have a go at this Audio Hijacker :D

If it works, ill buy it... I want this that bad >_<

#290750

Double post is in order, cause GillBates might have read the old one...

Ok, got it working with real player playing the stream (thank you, i owe you one :D ) then audio hijack, hijacking it :)

Ive already paid for this baby - its impressive! Here is what im doing...

1. Open the stream at 1500 everyday

2. Mute RealPlayer

3. Record the file until 1900 (show ends) in aiff format (no choice)

4. Close realplayer when done

5. Encode the file to mp3 (with my settings ;) )

6. Put the file in my iPod every day

7. Enjoy of the 1 day outdated show ;) - Anytime, anywhere!!!

THANK YOU GILLBATES :) - I WOULD NOT BE ALBE TO WITHOUT YOUR HELP ;)

#290756

well $16 doesn't sound too bad, now all you have to do is get automator to do steps 1-6 all on its own :P

#290761

Nah - just Open the app

Cant figure out how to schedule in Automator yet - the app cant launch/quit itself; thats the only downside i see of it...

/me is an automator neub :P

Thanks again, Gill :)

EDIT:

Ical can do all that by itself!

0.5. (before 1.) iCal runs an "alarm" that opens Audio HIjack at 18:58

6.5 (after 6) iCal runs an "alarm" that runs a homebrewed Applescript to quit the app :)

set targetApp to "Audio Hijack"

tell application "System Events"

set processExists to exists process targetApp

end tell

if processExists is true then

tell application "Audio Hijack"

quit

end tell

end if
