we respect stardock and there is a reason they didnt publicly release that link so until they do we are not allowing it on the site its like pirating freeware, sorry

Thank's for replying so fast. I happened to be awake and saw the topic, and as fast as it appeared it was gone, but I understand. God forbid we result to stealing that which is FREE in the beginning !!!!
wait a sec.. i downloaded the one that is currently available at stardock's site which the installer says 51. but in the about it says .52 alpha
I did the same...the day it was announced
the new one says: v0.55alpha not v0.52alpha 
really? awesome.../me goes to check it out...
What improvements (if any) can you notice?? Specifically what new features have been implemented??

I checked the version on the stardock-homepage. It says "version 052 alpha". But there are no new features. But maybee the will release a new version in the next 2 days ... so we should be patient

p.s. my first posting here - it is a really good place for "aqua-freaks" ... i realley like the nice people around here., always good replys on questions.
New Features that are in the new version of OD:
-Option to reasize icons or png up to 192x192
-Now you can place the dock on any edge of the screen
-Is posible to skin it an use overlays
-it came with the brused metal skin by default
-it use a Y'z similar background skining methood(backgroun, separator, ini file)
However... is very dificult to setup the backgorund sikin.. coz by now, this can just be perfomed replacing the background image by hand and modifying the ini files
It is also very buggy by now... it crashes to often... (at least in my pc... but that didn't hapenned with previous release...)
But we don't have to worry about that beacuse this is a kind of alpha of the (alpha) state...
and thats why the topic was closed....
Ps. DON'T pm me asking to send you this alpha (alpha) estate of the dock... coz i won't send it...
Is better to wait until the final release of the v0.52 is ready... i think jeff would like this way...
btw... Jeff... everything is getting so nice in OD... i've gotten used to it so much that the other docks just seem weird to me....

what a shame it would be if the author lost the trust of the aqua-soft community. It will be released when he wants to, and he has already given suggested dates. Please just wait and be happy knowing that he is working his a** off at making this software.
Yeah come on guys, show some restraint.....as someone mentioned before, the dock crashes like crazy....Why would you want to use an application that does that?? Please wait till Jeff releases the official version of 0.52....I'm sure it will be out soon (coz there's competition 
) and when it is officially released I'm sure it will be great and really really stable....So please be patient...
