The Next Mac Competitor: The Athens PC
The CPU has a wrap-around light when computer is locked and contains a one cable with USB2-Power-Monitor to the Monitor like the Mac.

The more I see it the more I'm thinking it has "featureitis". I myself could do without a built in phone, camera, biometric security device and blinking LED's that tell me I have mail. I actually think the arms that hold the camera and phone look bad.
But then again I'd probably not be getting a HP computer. I'd actually go for a model that doesn't have those things but is lesser price now that I think of it.
It is a prototype not an actual on-sale product. The phone probably won't be hanging because it can accept your PDA or Mobile phone via Bluetooth.
Do have any idea how much this thing would cost with that screen? That screen is just like Apples and SGI widescreens. They will add $2000 to the cost up front. I will pass. I like being able to pick and choose the things that go into my PCs. I have never bought a prefab machine and I never will except for a Mac.

it looks like a "telescreen" with a camera to make sure your not doing anything "wrong" and a phone so you can big brother can know how your getting on with your friends

seriously though, when the links back up you'll see that it definitely has a menacing look to it, the cctv camera has a great deal to do with that i think.
I think any of you who think it'd be some kind of orwellian big brother device are overreacting. Peopel said that XP wouldn't let us play MP3's when it comes out and other stuff like that and it never happened.
But XP wouldnt let us skin w/o hacking our system files.

Back on topic, this PC look ghey. I'd rather spend my money on an iMac or laptop.
IMHO, this computer is NOT ugly compared to most PC's. However, it is a blatant rip off of the G4 cube and the Apple Display, and that just pisses me off. They should be a little more original, and come up with MUCH better stuff, provided all the funds they have... <_
