I am looking for someone who can do high-quality graphics for certain GUI elements for AveDesk 1.3. It - hopefully - won't be a lot of work, but it needs to be done.

Having a pc would be really handy. Experience with GUI graphics too!

Okay, here is what I need to start with.
First, watch this little clip http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/clip0001.avi .
When the Label-tab is opened, you will notice that the preview-image in the Background-dropdownlist appears a bit later - it's not displayed instantly when the tab is opened. This is because the preview-images for that dropdownlist are loaded in the background.
What I need is a small animated graphical indication to the user that the box is actually loading.

Now that I am thinking of it, It would actually be a good idea to use the graphics from the users current visual style! Gotta try something.
I was thinking of doing something like that, but thought it was a bit simple. My idea was to have a little progress animation show up, and once the previews loaded, the animation would hide and change the drop down's opacity to 100%, with the previews already loaded.
Another idea I was going to share with you would be to have AveDesk load the previews at startup, that way eliminating the need for an animation in the first place. Just a thought.
Interesting take on it but I see a problem with it. Seeing as how it's a 1px line, unless I knew that I had to look at that spot, I wouldn't have noticed the progress bar. I do like that the dropdown was disabled until the previews were loaded though.

if you were doing some customized interface i could really hook something up, but you seem to wannna use the users themes, therefore I would go with your last clip, maybe make it 2 pixels and fade the label graphic in, not just pop it up.
how about just the avedesk logo spining as a avedesk is working image...

Looks fantastic Ave... I would, however, use a more prominent "loading" graphic: the tiny bar is hardly visible
