[help] Looking for DVD authoring sftware, comparable to iDVD

i was just watching a demo of the new iDVD 05, and I was very impressed with the quality of not only the interface, but the quality of the templates themselves. i was wondering if there is any software out there that is comparable to it? I guess this can vary in either, interface, and abilities.

Basically I just want something that is easy to use, with professional quality templates.. ive tried Sonic mydvd and i was disappointed with the templates that are included..

any help?

thanks in advance.

windows xp.. but i was hoping for a few people's opinions rather than a list of 50+.

also, by looking at that list, it seems that mpeg is the standard to use in dvd creation. are there programs that can use divx/xvid avi?

id prefer an all in one solution, that can make menus, transitions and such.

if anyone can help me out, id greatly appreciate.

well dvd's are mpeg2, 720x480... to make a compliant disc, the video has to be mpeg2... you're going to have to first convert your avi's over... you can do that in tmpgenc.

are you willing to pay for an app? just freeware solutions?

you may also get more feedback about video if you posted a similar question at the forums at videohelp.com
