I went on the computer today, and I saw this wierd line on my monitor. I tried cleaning it, but it won't budge. God, am I depressed.....
Anyway, I caught the line on picture.....I'd really like to buy a new monitor, but I just don't have the money.

What should I do?
It seems to be burnt into the monitor's sreen, that can happen if it projects something the same a bunch. from my knowledge i dont think there's much you can do about that, sorry. :slant:

That would be up to you, if you do alot of graphic design and it bothers you, you may want to consider getting a new monitor. However, its up to you.

EDIT: after reading through a few articles i would like to revise my statement about it not being fixable, in some cases it is possible to be reversed.

I must go for a few hours, just until the line goes away, but should I use the same image in a different color, or just turn off the monitor?
Whatever the reports say, which i believe is just, turn it off.
Hmmm...I think the line faded a lot, but it's still there.
I guess I need some memory of this whole event anyway...
Try de-gaussing the monitor? Not sure if that will work but I use it sometimes to get rid of some color changes. Sorry if it's dumb.

Oh ok. Oh yea your only supposed to do that when there's a magnetic field.. sorry 
I just read about degaussing, and apparantly you do it when...a magnetic field magnetized your monitor, is that right?
Edit: I think you're only supposed to degausse a CRT monitors.
I could get used to this line....It adds kinda a gradient to everything.
if it annoys you enough, theres always eBay, you can sell the old one on their, and buy a newer on too.
