Oh god - this has been talked about thousands of times; the fact that you can get it from a website does not mean it isnt payware, i am aware the font is freely available some places but it shouldnt - i contancted the authors. Turst me.

A FONT is a font. Payware or not. Let's not get a head of ourselves too much. The reality of the matter is that I should pay for a pen - they cost 5 cents to $5. Of course I should. Nothing comes for free, right? Not even music. But should I be licensed for the letter's, numbers, and stylizations that I write? Touche...not when they're THIS cool, apparently. And Fonts represent intellectual property. It's not like I can't get 500,000 at the touch of a button, all non-pay. But the justification for charging for it is..."You can't THIS one."

People pay for convenience all the time, so I have no problem necessarily paying for a font...but I don't have paypal, and I don't do online transactions. I guess I'm just not cool enough to have this font. So, does that mean I still can't get THIS one?

It's an indication of the times when everyone expects a hand out based upon reward or remuneration - now every Mod makers that writes a million lines of code expects to get picked up by a developer. No does anything for "The Greater Good". It's all "Show Me The Money" - just because someone broke a mild sweat. Apple exploits the OpenSourcerors and even screw their installed user base by paying for a full version, which is really an incremental update (something M$ doesn't even mine giving away with their operating systems) . Within the confines, and frameworks of a piece of paper that apparently gives them permission to do what they want...they received, for mostly free, the right to charge 10x the cost of admission. So does this still mean I can't get THIS one, font?

Lastly, do we not understand the effects of reverse psychology. I never had any idea of this particular font, which is mildly amusing at best (and not something I'd pay for). But now that someone says I can't have it, shouldn't have it, or will not have it...well, now I am a criminal, apparently. White collar, but a criminal nonetheless. In fact I have two copies of it.
Maybe someone one, somewhere will create a new color and ask people to pay for it...justified because some standards body somewhere decided to write some papers and give their opinions no one asked for. We all know about opinions, who has them and how valuable they are...don't we.

P.S. I apologize for my schizophrenic spelling...I add or drop a few letters, word, paragraphs, or even whole thoughts and replace them with "other stuff". Paying for a font will do that to you, after a time.
he does make perfect sense though. I was never interested in this font until SEPH blew a gasket over it, and in many threads as well. The reverse psych certainly worked on me as well. I love the themes in here, and can understand SEPH's persistance on the issue. But even posting this in threads of themes that the font does not even exist is enough to make someone go out and find it. And, I have to admit, its not that great of a font either.

Look kids, it`s not "Seph's persistance", it`s a matter of morality and legality.
If something is payware and you are distributing it for free, then it`s warez and warez is illegal. In order to keep AS out of trouble, we need to keep it clean from warez and crap like that.
Your personal view on "free fonts" and such doesn`t matter since you are just members. Tim and the rest of the staff have to make AS obey the laws cause when the cops start knocking they aren`t gonna go after you, they're gonna go after the staff (i`m not saying it will come to that but even a moral obligation is enough for some people).
So take some cheese with your whine and enjoy the freebies you're leeching off of this site.

It's called liability, and I respect that you want to minimize your exposure to it. Part of the legal obligation you have here is not if someone is distributing so called 'warez' or 'unpaid for fonts'...but whether your forum is postured to preventing it and being responsible. You'll never get an argument from that are with me.

I understand your point of view, but here is what should have happened. SEPH should have downloaded the theme and checked it for any violation. If it existed then he should either posted about it or PM'd the author. If the font or anything else for that matter did not exist, then this whole ordeal might never had occured. He should not have just popped in and shook his finger at the author stating that this font had better not exist in the theme. He has done this in a few threads concerning just this one font. Download it and verify, then PM or post, don't shoot from the hip. Next time, disipline your mods on the correct methods of verification before persecution.

The irony of the this topic is written...or more correctly has been erased...all over the face of this forum.
Ok, let`s make things clear then.
Distributing ANY kind of payware material here without written permission is prohibited by the rules and whether you, I and my grandma like it, it`s irrelevant. As a moderator i have to obey the rules and enforce them. Whether it`s a font, app, icons or whatever, if it`s payware, it`s payware.
What you think of that is totally different matter and you are free to discuss it somewhere else.
So if you want something that's illegal, unavailable or in any other way breaks the rules, use PM or email. Remember, i can`t scrutinize something i don`t know of.

Wolfmann. The creator charges for the font - distributing it is illegal. We have rules in the forum, one of them no warez discussion, not because of anyone's views, but because the fact that we could get closed down.
As a side note: Making a font is not a piece of piss as you put it... Its a font.. yes, ITS HARD TO MAKE A FONT, not only to create it (in the hourly consumption aspect) but in the creativity (idea generation aspect).
Regardless of the fact of it being easy, hard, really hard, piece of cake... If the creator charges for it, tough luck, no links to a free way to get it in here, as simple as that. This is aqua-soft, we run it how we seem fit (And we know why we do things), and we do not care about what you think a font should be worth k?
