to install a V3 skin there are three methods ways:

tools you will need:

-PST 6.7 or higher (googlesearch)

-P2k tools

-P2k Commander

-datacable

there are three methods for installing skins:

process #1: flexing:

1. download zip

2. connect datacable to phone

3. open PST: "new"--->"pflex"

4. open cr Dir skin name here.hs(from .zip)--->"run"

5. restart phone

6. close PST open p2ktools

7. "switch to p2kmode"--->"connect"

8. check "upload path"

9. type: /a/mobile/skins/skin name here/

10. "upload"

11. upload all .dat and .ski form the skin .zip to the typed in directory

12. restart phone

process #2 (swapping)

1. download zip

2. connect datacable to phone

3. open p2ktools

4. "switch to p2kmode"--->"connect"

5. explore to skins folder

6. select a skin (do not touch "moto")

7.rename .dat and .ski (from .zip) to mimic those on the skin directory eg. Scarlet.dat, etc. renaming is case specific.

8. send the renamed .dat/.ski to the appropriate skin directory. new files should overwrite the old ones.

9. restart phone

process #3: using p2kCommander (googlesearch)

1. run p2kC

2. right side directory tree: read "p2k mobile phone"

3. browse directory tree to skins

4. create "new folder" (make sure name is EXACT)

5. click "re-read"

6. open newly created folder

7. left side side directory tree: browse to location of skin files (.dat, .ski)

8."copy" to new directory on the phone.

9."copy" skin wallpaper to pictures folder on phone.

10. press f9 (phone reboot)

I used the third (the easier one) but now i m using the first (the best one)...

I do think it avoid the warranty :(

any screenies?

I really dont have one, i did not invent these methods, i used em and i succeed.

have u downloaded the softs? P2k Tools (the more important one!)

P2K permits u to access ur phone as if it was a drive indeed:

i advice u to download P2K first!

Sorry to dig up this thread, but I have a question about bluetooth.... Is it possible to do it via blutooth on my v551?

#356502

And you don't think it would be more apporpriate to ask that on the site he linked to which is dedicated to modding motorolas... rather than digging up this.

#356505

Does this work on the new SLVR?! Also, The SLVR is not showing up in p2k man

#359275

What is pflex? Is it available in PST 6.7 General? Cause I cant find it...

Using skinner4moto to edit exisiting skins is also a relatively simple way to make changes to skins you may find.... Also, heylove is working on a skin for use on a V3 based on her area o4 msstyle. She links to it here-- http://www.motox.info/showpost.php?p=69693&postcount=56 MotoX is legend in Moto modding circles, and Moto users should frequent his site for skins, general mods, & DRM icon info. as well..

I've got area o4 on my Moto V3i, after I modded it a bit w/ skinner4moto & it works flawlessly...

And just a tiny FYI... using any PST or P2k tools to change settings on your cell WILL void the warranty.

This includes uploading skins.

The only tool authorized by Motorola is "Motorola Phone Tools", which sucks.

So if you're gonna start modding your Moto, be careful.

or if you do crush your mtot beyond repair and try to claim another one because of a cracked screen
