Analogue Video recorder to Computer?

Hey I was just wondering is it possible to get a analogue Video Recorder and then put it in your computer and then getting footage on the comp?

If your camera has a video out, then you can buy a video capture card (Best Buy or where ever you feel most comfortable, they are usually with the graphics cards, make sure it has the A/V input (Red, White and Yellow)), install that onto your computer, hook up the device and it will play on the screen like a TV, the card (or external device) should come with software that can record the video to your computer.

That should be it. If you go to a store, explain to the floor person what you want to achieve, and they should be able to explain to you better than I can.
