I started using WindowBlinds, and the left-sided buttons are pretty much the only reason I'm using it, but it's a lot slower than using plain MSStyles, and MSStyles is actually better for customizing fonts... is there a script/program out there that can do this for me, or can someone write one?

mubach, I did what you said, but it doesn't work on my ipod.
ShellWM is perfectly stable...
Mubach's instructions will also work well, though it IS a bit expensive.

A very contestable statement, in case you weren't aware. Also, if you're not satisfied with the performance of WindowBlinds, did you try disabling the Themes service?

What's the Themes service, and how do you disable it? I'm not using StyleXP, by the way. I patched my uxtheme.dll.
go to your Run dialog. type Services.msc. all your Services will pop up and you can disable Themes service along with a lot of other useless ones that should make your cpu a little more peppier. try blackviper's website for info about what each service does (i am down to 17 processes running in my task manager)

easier: press Win+Pause, go to the Advanced tab, press the first Settings button and check out "visual styles" from the listgo to your Run dialog. type Services.msc. ...

Disabling some services is a bad idea. The Themes service is not one of those. If you're using WindowBlinds, having the Themes service running is unnecessary, and though I don't know the extent to which it consumes your computer's resources, it doesn't help.
But the worst that can happen if you disable the Themes service is that if you're not using WindowBlinds you'll go back to the Win98/2000 style Window appearance. Luna is disgusting anyway

You do not need the Themes-service.
Without WindowBlinds the GUI reverts to windows2000 style if you disable it. Sure helps making your pc snappier (compared to Luna with all the bells & whistles on).
Black Viper's site has been down for quite some time now with the 'under construction' bs. Wonder why. That site is the authority on (disabling) services.
pst9er, windowblinds 4.5 uses near to none of computer resources. Right now mine is taking a total of 1.2mb of my ram. Hardly anything to worry about when you have a gig like i do 
As for buttons on the left, I was mistaken. You can only do that with windowblinds. Visual styles are unable to do this.

What are you talking about? I never said WindowBlinds uses a lot of resources, or questioned the fact that WindowBlinds uses barely any resources. That was my point! Did you even read my post?

You're hesitant disabling useless services, but you dont hesitate when hacking your OS? Hubbuh?
I don't know what the services do. I found another site that describes Windows' startup services, and I disabled a few, but before then, I didn't know what the services did because the global description was a little vague... and technical.
Who says I've hacked my OS? I installed FlyakiteOSX v2, but that was after I knew that it worked "most of the time."

I don't know how much the Themes service slows down a person's computer, but I'm sure it does to some extent.
I'm going to guess that you misunderstood the last part. The subject of the sentence was "the Themes service"... maybe it gramatically works for WindowBlinds, but how could that possibly make sense in the context of everything else I've said?
