if your on winxp, do you have cleartype on? if not then turn it on, and then get the cleartype control panel tuner.

it's beautifull.

This one is BEFORE loading Limewire: :(

And AFTER loading Limewire: :confused:

It is certainly something that has to do with JAVA. Same issue with Opera.

Same effect. Only what you call beautifull, I call blurry; as if someone forgot his reading glasses.

I solve the blurryness by disabling Java in my browser preferences...

Cleartype is something different;

ClearType delivers improved font display quality over traditional forms of font smoothing or anti-aliasing. ClearType improves readability on color LCD displays with a digital interface, such as those in laptops and high-quality flat panel displays. Readability on CRT screens can also be somewhat improved.
If you're not familliar with this, I advise you to download the cleartype-tuner from Microsoft via the link above.

Although it improves the good ol' CRT monitor already dramatically :cool:,

it is supposed to be superior on LCD, as can be read throughly here.

your whole picture is blurred not just the fonts. notice the button edges or button gloss or any other element on the screenshots.
