A Photography Contest?

Would anyone be interested in an Aqua Soft photo contest? I'm willing to help organize it and be semi-incharge. Would anyone be intertested in being in the contest?

There would be a different theme each month so it's not boring. I dont really have a prize, so you guys can think of that. As a small prize, you could put something like "WInner of May 2005 Photo Contest" with a gold, silver, or bronze medal next to it in your signiture.

WInner would be decided by you sending your picture to me then I would upload them all into a small gallery on my site then you can vote for your favorite in a poll on here.

Some rules would be like...

• You have to have taken the picture.
  NO Photoshoping.
  NO voting for your own.
  And it has to be sent by the last day of that month.

NO photoshoping? thats somewhat unfair, as most of my images are RAW (.crw) therefore I have to post-process inorder to get anything.

PS, I have some images (nothing spectacular) at http://mu.seph.ws/gallery/ (forgive the pixelation of some, its the flash gallery software not me, if anyone knows a way around this please PM me).

photoshopping tends to mean manipulations.. not exporting to jpeg... you can easily take a raw and export it without altering any channels

But a simple curves adjustment&highpass sharpening would be ok right? thats basically all i do.

Mubach got a point... not doing heavy manipulation is understood.. but some basic touchups like levels, curves or even despeckle should be allowed. Even when we shoot on film we use basic burning and dodging while developing prints, so why ban PS while it comes to Digital Photography !!

My F2Pro seems always to produce a blueish colour cast, so I need to adjust the levels at least. Auto levels usually does this trick with one hit...I'm not keen on having it sent away to be looked at, I couldn't bear to part with it.

I've had the camera for about 18 months.

Yeh, that would be good, i have a few of my own photographs i could submit.

I think that the "No Photoshop" rule would be acceptable. That way the photos would be original and would not have been enhanced in any way.

I'm game if basic image adjustment is allowed. We should at least be able to properly adjust the tones, color balance, etc.

I have an idea; the photographer has to submit an original, un-modified version of the photo and the touched-up (not manipulated) version, so the judges can see what actually happened to the photo is Photoshop. But yeah, that's a great idea!
