Holy ****!!! It says that it can play NES and N64 games! Get outta here! I haven't purchased a Nintendo since N64...if it can play all those games I will for sure buy it just for that alone!
It is just me or does X box, playstation 3 and the new Nintendo look a lot alike? 
It's not what you are thinking (I think). What they are doing is having a library online so you can download and play older Nintendo games. It won't play the cartridges, and its not sure if these downloads would even be free. We just know too little.Holy ****!!! It says that it can play NES and N64 games! Get outta here! And on a second note, that design is not the final. It is a prototype Revolution that they showed, and they probably won't even keep that name for launch. Remember "Dolphin" and I forget what N64 was. In fact, they said the final version would be even smaller, and hopefully even slicker looking.
It's just you. The Xbox 360 has concave sides; PS3 has a huge bulge on one side, the prototype Revolution is a box. Xbox is HUGE, PS3 I think is roughly the size of the original PS2, and the Revolution is about the size of the Mac Mini (at least in volume).It is just me or does X box, playstation 3 and the new Nintendo look a lot alike
Actually reports do say "Revolution" is the final title. I really dislike the design, way to bland. I personally think sony again will win this gen too. The demos they showed are freakin' clearly awesome **** omg. I didn't like the design of it either. Xobx 360 is one I do like. I think having games downloadable is a big boost in the big N's direction. I think with this they will be the clear No. 2 behind Sony. I'm sure they thought of that for a reason. I now have no reason though to buy a gc and get zelda because I can just wait and buy the revolution with a bizillion games for it (new zelda included). I do think if they charge for games (which I don't think they will, since they always say crap that online **** should be free) it will be less than 1 dollar. I think it was a great response from Nintendo. I do think they are headed in the right direction to be #1 again, but sadly I don't think it will happen in this new generation of gaming

A box that isn't actually the real size OR colour, might possibly play old games but were not sure how yet and no controller. Well I'm bowled over with such an amazing presentation I'm going put my PS3 purchase on hold..............I bet this Revolution has been in development for over a year, most probably nearer 2 years .....
They need to fire their R&D team and get some people who can actually put **** together.
When will Nintendo realise that they need to stop trying to tell us how to play games and just get on and create a kick ass console - we all know they can do it.
With regards to Backward compatability... I've had it on my PS2 and not once have I put an old game in - because a) I've already played it to death and 
the graphics are ****. So I certainly wouldn't pay for the privellage to download it. And while we are on the subject of compatability - why the hell do Nintendo always love using non-standard formats?? In this day and age when I want to watch a DVD or listen an MP3 cd on my console .....? And don't tell me you can add one on! Why should I pay more to play a international standard disk format??

Well, I was watching the E3 show on G4, (not that I was interested.) And First up was Microsoft. Microsoft had a preview to a lot of games that were coming up for the Xbox 360, and they had the shape for it and everything. They said it would be playable online, right out of the box. After that was nintendo, and some old Japanese guy came out, who spoke with a horrible accent, and he broke out that Revolution box. He said that the final would be even smaller than that, and it would be the size of 3 DVD cases stacked together. He also said that you could download games on it and all that crap.
I really like Nintendo, but I'm not sure where they have been going with all of this. i mean, Microsoft and Sony already have everything lined up, and people are getting excited, but Nintendo thinks that if they keep making something smaller, and cuter they could win the audience? No offense, because I really love Nintendo, and have been sticking with them for years. (Ever since I was a very small child.) But this is just insane. The one thing that put Sony and Microsoft ahead was online gameplay, but Nintendo didn't even develop anything. What did they have? Phantasy Star online. That was it.
They also sacraficed funcionality for looks with the Gamecube, which was made only small enough that you could play those crappy little mini CDs. The reason they did that though, was because they were always very afraid that people would easily pirate their games if they were on standard format. Because of that, People had to pirate games from a private server with PSO! (Phantasy Star Online) Can you believe that!?
And about the Micro, the screen is way too small, so I really hope that that isn't the final.
Unless Nintendo makes online gameplay for every game, and a CD/DVD feature, the same thing will happen to them that happened to the Gamecube. Failure.
