OBFont installation with ObjectBar fails.

I do not understand why.

1. OBFONT__.PFM and OBFONT__.PFB were both copied to C:WindowsFonts. This failed. Font on ObjectBar (using the really spiffy Tiger ObjectBar themes) was still Arial.

2. Checked the theme scripts in the .obskin files. They each reference "OBFont." I tried renaming the fonts in C:WindowsFonts to "OBFont.pfb" and "OBFont.pfm". This did not work.

3. I read somewhere not to install the PFB file. I tried removing the PFB file and leaving the PFM file. This failed.

4. I reinstalled both files with original names and set ClearType to active. This did not fix the toolbar font. What once was ugly Arial became suspiciously pretty Arial, but still Arial.

What am I doing wrong?

do you have Adobe Type Manager?

You don't need ATM if you're using XP, type1 font support is built in. Try using "add" fonts from the control panel, that should work.

When you drag fonts into the windows/fonts folder you should get an installing font dialog box. If not then either the font file you tried to install is corrupt or you/windows didn't install it properly :) If they won't install then reboot & try again :)

Oh, yes! That's beautiful. Thank you very much for the Fonts --> Install New Font idea.

I had no clue Windows could do that. I thought you just dropped the fonts in, and it worked. I didn't realize there was a distinction between "installed Fonts" in Control Panel and "fonts in the C:WindowsFonts" Folder.

Though, thinking back, I recall dragging fonts into the folder used to pull up an install dialog. No clue why that didn't work here, but thanks a ton.
